Kim Nowlin is originally from North Carolina and attended UNC Wilmington, where she studied biology and chemistry before earning a degree in elementary education. She has been teaching since 2008 and has taught elementary school, middle school math and science, and elementary intervention. Kim and her husband, Matthew, have two children, Brody, 15, and Brooklyn, 12. Matthew is a division director with Lowes Foods, overseeing stores throughout a large region of South Carolina. His career brought the family first to Pawleys Island, then Murrells Inlet, and finally to Charleston in 2024. They now happily call Johns Island home.
As a family, they love watching movies, having game nights, attending sporting events, exploring local markets and festivals, enjoying beach days, and visiting family whenever possible. Although they currently have no pets, Brody and Brooklyn are hoping for a dog and a rabbit, so that may change in the near future.
